Psalm 147:1 says: “Praise the Lord. How good it is to sing praises to our God, how pleasant and fitting to praise him.”
Before I begin, I must confess that I am not too good at this sort of thing. I mean, singing praises to our God. The world tells me it is not natural and I look silly doing it, and so, I often times choose to let the moment slip away. I cannot let this moment pass, without telling you how amazing my God is and just how abundantly he loves me.
Sometimes, we get something and we say “wow, that was weird, but cool.” Over the past six months of this year, God has opened the floodgates and poured out a love that has left me in awe. It has not been just one thing, but over and over God has provided lavishly for my family. We have received a boat, a computer, a lap top, a flat screen t.v., a hot tub, and a car. Now you might say “that is just stuff.” Truly, it is and we could live without it. However, I know that God is blessing us with a crazy love that only he provides. That is why I have been feeling the need to just shout out his goodness, and give him the glory for these blessings.
Most of you know that my husband busts his you know what every day at a job that at this time of year is nothing short of exhausting in the merciless Arizona sun. For all of the busting of his you know what, he still makes about fourteen thousand less than the national poverty level for our family of five (I will let you do the math;)). Now some of you might say that if we lived in Nicaragua we would be considered quite wealthy, but we do not, we live in America. I only mention this small fact for two reasons: one to show that we can not afford the things that we have on our own, and two, that by the world’s standards we really do not deserve any of these things. Nonetheless, my table has never been without food, my back has always had a shirt, and my rent has always been paid.
I am more than thankful for my husbands hard work. I could not do what he does. It was God that gave him this job, and it is God that fills in the gaps. We truly have everything we need to survive, but also to live a good life, a blessed life. For this, I give all of the glory to my God, the King of Kings and Lord of Lords, to whom I will praise with my whole heart!
