Lindi here, not Larry.

Hi, everyone. We miss you! It has taken a while to get settled into a hew place, but we are almost there. Larry's job is going very well. Because of its location, we have ended up way far north of Phoenix in Anthem. It is a very yuppie community (well, yuppies need Jesus, too, you know). But it IS a community. Because it is planned and because it is pretty much cut off from everywhere else (only can get in off two exits from the 17) it has to be.

Sadly, the only churches that seem like they might resemble the Village in any way are 40 plus miles away. We are trying to be responsible to the earth and not drive so much so that's out of the question. Really, it would be too far to make close friends, anyway. we

So, at present, we are attending (though haven't committed to) a church here in town. There are some people in it with whom we feel we have things in common -- though not all.

As a side, I was SOOO Happy because I got to plant some veggies this year for the first time in many. Also, the Lord has brought some people into our lives...not Christians but people who need Christ.

I lost the addresses and need Ruth's. Ruth, I haven't forgotten your books and tapes and apologize greatly for keeping them for this long. If you can email me (my email should be on here) with your snail mail address, I will mail them.

We appreciate all of you and are sorry that as much as we wanted it to do so, it just didn't seem to be the place we were supposed to be. Well, I take that back...as hard as it was in some ways, being there for the time we were was just what we needed and I want to thank you all for being "You."

Now that we are moved into a house, if anyone needs a place to stay when visiting up here, you will be welcome although we are, as I said, very far north.

Take care! We contiue to pray for your needs, personal and church-wise. Please pray for us -- especially that I will know how to represent Christ to these people who don't believe. I've never been much of an outreach person...for years, I did all my "service" in the church for God's people. I realized quite some time ago that God wanted to change this -- not because Christians don't need ministry, too, but just because God wanted to change it for me. But I confess...it is not easy for me. I am not a person who makes small talk easily. I am very serious and I think I tend to intimidate people because they think i am smarter than them. I'm really not == I just collect facts like some people collect action figures! Well, i guess i do love to learn but I know that learning is not the greatest thing in life ... it is service and communication and love that matter. So, as I said, pray for me. I've been this way all my life. Even in elementary school, the other kids were interested things kids are interested in and I was interested in trying to figure out life. /-: It has made my ability to communicate difficult, a fact that has never bothered me unti recently when I felt God would have me branch out.

Well, I'd better stop before this becomes an espistle instead of a post. Hugs to all, especially Eric & Susan & Eric's parents, Rod and Kathy, Emily, Tritzia and Ruth..

Love, Lindi Harris-Axon

Hey Lindi,

It is SO good to hear how you all are settling in. I felt like I sort of lost you after we talked about getting together for our pilgrim group lunch. I missed having you there.

I hear you on feeling like you struggle to communicate the way others generally do. I encourage you to be yourself and speak from your heart. I think that's what people long for.

We attended a church up there that was similar in philosophy to The Village. It is called Open Door Fellowship and is on 19th Ave just north of Northern. I don't think it would be that far of a drive if you are interested in checking it out. Lorie and Doug Allen are going there. I'm not sure if you met them when they were here? Anyways, I liked how they talked about our identity a lot. I felt freed up there. The people are great. So if you do go, I'd love to hear your impression!

Well, I hated Phoenix and then loved it so I wish you great blessings in the valley of the sun. It would be wonderful to visit sometime. What is your address and phone #?

Love,
Kim
