So my compassion soup will be a baked potato & bacon soup. I've never tried the recipe but how can you go wrong with potatoes, cream, bacon & cheese?
The peanut chicken soup is a recipe from Family Fun Magazine put out by Disney. Its defintely on the "Lion King" side with yams, peanut butter, and chicken in the same dish. Its still a creamed soup though. The chicken is the only chunky stuff. And for some reason its really good garnished with Sun Chips. Perhaps because those chips have a slightly nutty flavor? Or maybe I just have weird taste. We'll see....
So I did sorta read the books. I read "The Eye of the World" because I really enjoy the Wheel of Time series. But if the story didn't appeal then the book probably seemed REALLY LONG!! That's how George McDonald's "At the Back of the North Wind" seemed to me. Normally I like his fantasies but this one started to get really "Polly Anna" for me. So I have to admit - after the first chapters, I skipped huge sections and got a general idea - and then just read the ending. I did enjoy the preface in my book. It was a discussion of how George McDonald fit in to his time and how some of the elements of the story reflected what he thought about common issues of his day. Not that I personally READ all the things that were mentioned but I have faith that they were really in the story!
