So as all of you have heard, Coleen and I were burglarized last month and most of my valuable things were stolen: my backpack with my journal and bible, my iPod, my desktop computer, and my sweet Takamine acoustic guitar (and case and accessories). It was a seriously violating thing to have happen. Nonetheless, neither Coleen nor Bella our dog nor I was hurt; they broke in when no one was home. Everything that was taken was replaceable.

Last month, before the wedding, some guys and I got together for a sweet man party to celebrate the union of me and Coleen is marriage. After some fun drinking beer, eating Eric's spicy salsa (salivate...), and praying, the guys presented me with an envelope. This envelope was filled with money that they all raised. Well, I finally took the envelope of money and brought it down to Guitars Etc and told them what had happened to my old guitar and the financial situation I was in now.

I knew God was looking out for me throughout the whole situation of getting robbed. I didn't feel like it was my fault or that I could have done something to prevent the robbery from happening. I just trusted that God had everything handled, which is a big deal for me: trusting God.

Low and behold, I received everything I needed to continue my guitar playing experience. In fact, the salesmen at Guitars Etc sold me a brand new guitar, a strap, a cable and a stand for exactly the amount the village men had given me (minus 22 cents). I love looking back and seeing the powerful ways in which God works.

What I got from this whole thing: trusting that God has your life where he wants it is difficult, yet extremely valuable.

I absolutely and wholeheartedly agree with Eric's assessment of the situation.
